I've searched the forums but haven't found a conclusive answer, so I thought I would ask "point blank": has anyone written an importer that will read the Wavefront OBJ format directly into a DBPro program and render objects from it?

Thanks in advance for your help, and I hope this wasn't a dumb question.

Not as far as I know, but I wouldn't think DBP could work with .obj, simply because .obj can contain objects with quads, Dark Basic its self only uses models with tris, as in .x and .3ds file formats. .obj is generally a universal file format to swap models between 3D modelling/UV mapping/etc programs.

You can convert .OBJ into 3DS or X in most programs. Anim8or can convert them, or Lithunwrap. Lots of other programs too.
