I was wondering if anyone has ever considered making a bridge or even a broken, {uncrossable} bridge. I've searched but had no luck. I'll pay for one if need be. Thank you all in advance.

I am making one right now. It is a stone bridge with arches and an arched stone rail. You can walk under it and it will be in 3 pieces so you can make it as big as you want. 2 ramps and 1 straight section. I should have it done this weekend.

I made a bridge level. The whole bridge was made of interlinking entities. I'll post a screenie and download when I get home.

Here is a pic of the bridge so far. There is going to be 3 different variations. 1 like the pic, the other one will be solid stone for the ramps and the 3rd one will have broken parts to it. Let me know if this is going to suite your needs or not please.

MK83, I need to know how detailed you want this bridge to be. I have a couple different renders that you may want to look at before I get too involved.

I really like that bridge stamina. It's simple, but it looks very detailed. The forum noob in me has been unleashed and I have to ask... is it gonna be free?!

Well,,I will be making a simple bridge that I am planning on giving away to the cammunity. The ones I am working on now (there are going to be 4) are going to be available to purchase as they take some time to detail. They will be in a pack of models that I am creating for fpsc and will contain somewhere around 25 models in the pack for purchase.

The free bridge will be very plain, but will consist of 3 parts in order to construct it and make it fit your game to your taste. It will also be in 2 different scales, 1 large and 1 med-small scale.
The free bridge I hope to have done right after I finish the model for MK83.

Hope that answers your question.

Well,,due to poly counts with arches, I have revamped the bridge. Take a look at this one with the temporary texture for now and tell me what you think.

Thats the one I will give to the community then. I will make 2 version. The one shown in the pick, and another that is weathered and semi ruined.

If you want it uncrossable, then I suggest to place items and such on it. I wouldnt want to make a bridge that isnt completely usable.

This bridge will also come with some extra columns for the semi ruined bridge so you can lay them on it and such.

Check back later this evening for the files.

I create a 1024x1024 texture in my graphics program, then in milkshape I set each area to a certain part of the texture. I am still new at that piece of the puzzle, but I am getting better at it.

NOW,,everyone will have an input on this.

I can make the free bridge with a concrete and asphalt texture and it will be done in about an hour or so, or you can wait until probobly thursday and I will texture it all with stone textures, which takes awhile in order not to get any stretching or blurring of the texture.

Let me know with posts asap please.

And thanks for the comments.

stone is more classic, and from the sound of it, better quality.

asphalt would it in more with road segments.

it would be greedy to say both.

So I'll say stone since it sounds like it would be better quality.

Well, here are 2 screenshots for now. Will be finished tomorrow.

For the textures right now, they are like a light sandstone color and texture. The rails are more like a grey sandstone.

These are ingame shots.

I will finish it completely tomorrow.

The bridge model is done,,only thing that is holding it up is the texturing. In fact, I believe TEXTURING SUCKS!...lol.

I'll have more later.

ok,,here is 1 bridge that is finished. It's an old wooden bridge, similiar to the ones in HL2. I have been running into issues with players getting stuck in places in the other bridges, so I am going to work on that problem before I give out anymore.

This one is tested and works correctly. The texturing on the posts isnt what I would prefer for a final model, but it's the best I could do for right now as texturing isnt my strong suit, well, either is modeling but I am starting to give it a shot.

The other bridges will/if ever, be released when I figure out the collision issues going on with them.

To use this, simply extract the entire folder to your entitybank/user folder. The bridge itself is 1/2 of a wooden bridge, so it can be used with 1 piece for a partial bridge or a dock, or use 2 of them and rotate 1 as needed to make a complete walk over wooden bridge.

The pic I posted is showing 2 entities making a complete bridge.
The texture in the pic is not the updated one either.

If you want to make the bridge larger in scale, open the fpe file supplied with in the folder and change the scale properties. ( associate the fpe file with notepad for those who dont already know)

Here is the link for the wooden bridge

Thanks for your patience and I hope to get the other bridge finished as soon as the issue is taken care of.

Well the link didnt work right as above, you have to copy and paste it in your address bar of your browser. the download works. Just not sure why it didnt post it as a clickable link.

Appreciate it. Like I said, for some reason, the stone bridges were creating collision issues with fpsc, and since I am raher new at modeling, I have to take the time to figure out the issue before I give out anything else. I dont want to hand out junk.

Have fun and post a screen shot in your game for me.
