Oh my god! I never quite grasped this before but... This is going to take years to learn before I even start seeing the results of my labor...

I can grasp using Dark Basic itself to a fair degree. I can even do basic modeling in DeleD, but before I can go any further I have to learn how to build and animate the characters. I have to try out each modeler and see which one is the best for me (After I go through each of their tutorials to see how it works first, of course). I must say this is a little disheartening. Very, actually. I thought I was making good progress until today.

Before you say it, I know no one said this was going to be easy. I wasn't expecting it to be. So no flaming me for being a naive n00b or anything, kay?

Do you have a question or are you telling us to prepare ourselves?
Indeed! It does take awhile!

I learned DB, Photoshop, Anim8or, to a good standard in 1 year. A few weeks to make a simple game really. Although, if I was starting anew I would skip Anim8or for a different modeller.

You really dont have to learn how to animate yet, make your game with primitive objects using DB's built-in object creation commands, once pretty much the entire game is finished add in your animated models.

LOL, I still haven't learned to model or draw worth anything yet. That's probably why I haven't ever really made a real game. I did get 3D world studio and have been playing with it for a while, but my mind only understands code.

Good performance is better than a good excuse.
