There is a script somewhere on these forums to get entities to sit down. I'm sure it's here somewhere, I'll have a quick look for it.

EDIT: I found it. It was as simple as going to the Scripts forum and taking a quick search for "sit". First result yielded this script:

Copy that to Notepad and save it in the Scriptbank folder, making sure that you save it as "All Files" and making the extension ".fpi". Then simply apply it to the character, and voila.

When you save in notpad look to Where it says File Name "*.txt"
Type the name, then ".Fpi" So "Name.Fpi", then press enter, or click save

However, if you only do that, you'll end up having a ".fpi.txt" extension. You need to have the "Save As Type" set to "All Files" as well as physically typing ".fpi" at the end, otherwise it won't work.

EDIT: I still haven't tested the script, but it's *possible* it doesn't work. I was fairly sure that that was a V1 script and not EA, but it's possible it is--the animation numbers changed in V1 as they ripped out half of the animations, and it appears that animate=5 is now the running animation. I'll look further into it later. You can do so yourself too, though. Simply go to the Scripts section, scroll to the end of the page and type "sit" in the Thread Search Box. Read threads as necessary.

I tested it and it worked! Animation isn't so great but will do a job.

Doh. That was a bit stupid of me.

Oh no hangon. It wasnt a bit stupid of me. Your wrong.
It saves it on mine as .fpi even if you have save as textfile selected. I must just have one of those special versions of windows
(Maybe it does save it as Name.fpi.txt on yours, if you didnt actualy check, can you do so now, and we'll find out or equaly if you did check post and say so)

HandK... I think you may be right! I could have sworn that it saved it as ".fpi.txt", but it hasn't appeared to do that when I tried it just before... creepy...

Oh, TJ990--there may be a quick fix for your floating problem, but it may take a bit of tweaking--simply right-click on the entity (the character that is sitting down) and press Page Down a little bit so that the chracter is a little lower. Then test it and see if it's almost level, and then keep tweaking if necessary.

Or have him sit on the table

Jiffy, I think it might have something to do with if notpad is the default exe for *.fpi
In all honesty I only realized I hadnt been wrong when I accutaly looked, because what you had said made perfect sence.

It's my understanding that this script was written for and worked in the early version, but that the animation needed was removed from V1... or something to that effect. All it does now is move the character down into the floor, so he appears to be lower behind a desk.

BTW: Apparently my Windows (XP PRO, SP2) has not improved so I still have to select 'All Files' or I end up with .fpi.txt.
