Sigh, here's another "it's gotta be dark to be scarey" mentality. You can achieve in the final game only by changing the ambiance number to 0 in the level setup.fpe.
Just a bit of advice, if you post pics that are too dark because you want it scarey, you will be told repeatedly that your pics are too dark. Use some lighting to convey your scareyness. Being dark doesn't make it scarey. Good atmosphere, use of objects, and lighting makes a game scarey. The whole completely dark thing is a childs mentality. That's my opinion and advice for you before you post any pics or even start on your endevor. I hope you take it to heart; it will result in less flaming and negative comments.

I made a game called Garage for some time ago and that game was extremly dark, but it was by far the coolest game I have ever made! I think people are to afraid to make dark games. But ofcourse it shourldnt look all black, You just have to learn how to place the lights in a proper way so You dont destroy that creepy feeling... I was working alot with lights in "Garage" and if someone is intrested in a screene of it just search for "Garage" at Showcase...

It's not that were afraid of dark games , were just tired of seeing the 20th pic of a stock model hallway thats has total complete darkness before you and a caption saying "Ooh I wonder what's in there?"

ok i'll try that, and of course it will not be pitch black, you got to have some cool lighting and scary music (perhaps from doom 3?) btw, does anyone of you know how to make a blinking lamp, or should i chekc in the scripting section?

No matter how dark you make a game, users will turn the brightness and contrast and gamma (of monitor), to a level that they want.
And I promise you they will nearly always change them so it is less dark.

Unfortunetely, it's much easier than that.

Funnily enough, built FPSC games retain the "< and >" functionality for changing ambience! At first I thought this was something wrong with my built games, but I tried it with some other people's games, and it's the same!

Open File/Build Game/Level Settings/Global Script. Then change ambience to 0.

When you click on "Build" you can adjust the lighting settings there.

FredP's right.

I think you're confusing folders with menus, fr34k.

In FPSC, Go to File>Build Game>Level Settings>Global Script. That will open up a window with numerous fields that you can change, including Ambience.

once again mr love demonstrates his total inability to post without either advertising one of his games, or complaining about poor graphics quality when it's developing from his own pc. no offence mr love, but you do this quite a lot.

If You dont like people that are making many games then You dont like Nigezu or any other Guys that are mutch more productive than Me! About the blurry picture I am not alone to have that opinion.
I think I am doing FPSC a favour by telling what can be better in this cool engine. And remember. I dont talk for the Guys that just bought FPSC on Wall Mart to play with, because they dont care about small changes! No offense, but I think Your critics is a little bit strange...

I want to see a FPSC Professional! And lets make it REALLY expensive this time......
