Hello meself here , im writeing a little rules here .
Basics
1.Do not post nudity or pictures that ar not appropiate , there are some younger viewers here .
2. Double posting is not needed in most forums thats why they invted the edit button .
3. Advretiseing your website is alright unless it has somthing that is fpsc-related .
Please take the time to read the ENTIRE thing. I do NOT want posts coming in after a minute of posting this. Unless you are an extremely fast reader, take the time to soak up the information. And please do not post a reply that has nothing to do with the topic .
Obviously, some of you really need to learn the elements of posting. The buidling blocks of posting. I know everyone here is aiming for a better forum, . Not only to the Mods And Admins who dedicated most of their time settling down the forum, , i have decided to post here more often then i used to do, only to help this place improve.
Reading
Step one to posting is reading everything. When i say everything, i mean EVERYTHING. Read the thread, post by post, word by word. It really helps. DO NOT read only the first post and think you are ready to post. Becuase what happens most of the time, the thread may already be on page 3, and you don't know about it. And the topic has been switched, or the answer has already been said, and people are trying to let the thread die. In the steps of posting, this has to be the easiest of the all. Read. I promise you, will not make you look like an idiot.
Posting
Alright, this is the MOST abused part of them all, yet its simple. Once you have read the thread, post something that actaully has sense to it. Let me list this part out:
Read the ENTIRE thread.
Press the reply button.
Type something that has something to do with the topic.
Make sure its legible.
If everything falls under those categories then, you are safe to press the 'Post' button.
With the do's you ALWAYS get don'ts. Here are a list of don'ts:
Do not read only the first post.
Do not start flame wars. If a flame war occurs, the best thing to do, is stay out of the way of the two posters fighting, and report it to the nearest administrator or moderator. If you happen to be in one, try your best to stop the war from going on. Because either way, you are going to end up banned, either temporarily or permenantly. But im not saying flame wars do not happen.
Please do not continue to repeat what another person has said. If one person has said it, it does not need to be repeated.
Edit, edit, edit, edit. Do not double post Just edit your previous post.
Poster Friendly
Here is where we go into the tips and tricks that i've collected .
We a new poster posts here, try to be as helpful and friendly as possible. Because the more he/she likes it, the more likely h/she is going to stay. And hopefully, he/she will inivite his/her friends, and now you've got a bigger community.
Report the thread, and DO not post. Ignore, that what ignore means.
Reporting
Ok, im not saying dont report, but dont abuse it aswell. Reporting a thread that shouldn't be reported is wrong. Only report it if its unnecesary or its out of control .
If your anger gets to you, ignore the thread, but do not report it.
Veteran Posters
Everyone wants to become a veteran. Buts not as easy as you think. One, you need time. 3 months is not long enough. Maybe a year, but 3 months...I dont think so. Secondly, veteran posters are classed as quality of posts. Tats where the saying "Quality of Quantity".
So before you call yourself a veteran, see if you fall into these requirements.
Thread Posting
The biggest of them all. This is what makes or breaks a board. The quality of threads. Unlike replies, a thread is induced with massive amount of power. I know it may seem awkward, but i've been here for a while, and the longer you stay, the more it makes sense. The guidlines are almost identical to those of posting, only it has a couple of catches. Here are the do's:
Make sure your thread has a point. A point that can be discussed amoung other members of the community.
Make sure it is in the correct section. If the topic you are going to create is not about about FPSC, than it should not be posted in the FPSC Forums. Common sense.
Be open to critizism.
Make sure everything in your thread is legible.
And again, along with do's there are the don'ts.
Do not make a thread that has no meaning.
Do not create a thread saying that you are leaving. If you have to leave the forums, leave.
People's replies come in whenever a person sees your thread. So give your thread sometime to blossom. Do not bump up your thread when it has died. Unless its absolutely necesary.
Do not threads that is directed to one person. If you wish to speak to someone, use another form of communication. (i.e. e-Mail, Instant Messanging, anything but the forums.)
Do not create a thread threatening someone, or starting a war.
Also do not create another thread of the same topic
If the thread (topic) has already been created! Its always good to utlize the 'Search' button before asking a question or creating a new topic. Chances are it has already been created.
Only one thread is needed. If a thread with the same topic is created, post your ideas in their thread. Do not create another one.
Hopefully, this thread has taught you the in and outs of posting. I've told you all i know (most everything), and this is all you need to know.
I garauntee, if everyone reads this thread, and sets this as a goal for them, this place will be spam free. I garauntee. And if i doesn't happen, i wish to be permenantly banned. Yes you heard me. Because im truely confident that you people can make this place a better board.
Happy posting,
Meself
Well this took me about an hour to write , whatever , just trying to help . There might be mistakes because i was in a hurry .
