hi every one, i wonder how can you make a plain ghosted object with a texture, so that only the texture shows and not the object. i need to make this so that the effect of a glowing light can be achieved like the maouse trails demo in the code snipets section.

Colour the parts of the texture which you want to be see through black, and then use Ghost Object On.

^^ Note, the object IS invisible if you image it like a body, the texture is the visible skin which is wrapped around it. If you make part of the texture invisible (ie. black), then you can see through the object as well. Note, you can use SET OBJECT TRANSPARENCY if you don't want to ghost the object.
