Forgive me if I don't ask this properly, as I am not familiar with the weapons and gunspec lingo.

Can a melee animation be added to the guns so that when you run out of ammo, the weapon can be wielded by hand?

I was just thinking that it would be fun to beat people senseless instead of shooting them.

just make a new weapon animation put it as a different weapon...then shorten the range to 65-70

Whats a fps without the blood, guts, death, khaos, and disorder?

yes and no.

because you could hit people with the gun even when you had ammo.

It would basically be a whole other weapon. Also you would have to make another pickup for this melee version and overlap it with the shooting pick up. And obviously if you collected a weapon from an enemy you would only get the shooting, and not the melee version.

So yes it can be done.

But no it won't be a propper job!
