hi everybody, ive been spending alot of time reading thew the fourms and i realized everyone hypes 3ds max alot, but i want to make it know that for game creation, Carrara and Hexagon (preferably bolth of them) are a great alternative to max at about 1/4 the price. hexagons modeling / painting tools are on level with z brush (with MUCH better UV mapping) the small animation company i work for just switched over to this product, and i couldnt be happier.

jconxtc,
I tried Carrara for a while and it certainly is excellent in a number of ways. But it doesn't have Directx exporting which I think is a major drawback.

ummm link... lets see... it used to be owned by eovia, but now Daz owns its so Daz3d.com
OH! and if your going to buy hex and carrara get the 30 dollar daz membership and you can save 30% of sticker price, and with a price of about 600 for bolth of them, thats what like 180 bucks off? its a hell of a deal.

as for .x format, just export in 3ds or obj and convert from there.
