V1 may have come not too long ago but it came out with way too many problems. The mere fact they claim in the brochure to have save\load option is false advertising. It's pretty depressing I paid for the game and both packs but I moved onto torque because of the limitations of FPSC that are not mentioned or lied about in the advertising.

I do however hope and pray for some sort of change or break through to make this garbage smell a little better. Looking forward to it.

The idea of FPSC allowing people to make legitamte sellable games is wonderful....but so is money falling from the sky but neither are going to happen.

"False Advertising" is a bit of a stretch--I don't really think that most people realise that the whole "save/load inclusion" is, and was, never mentioned in any of the advertising. Generally speaking, False Advertising is used to make people buy something thinking that it has something that it doesn't.

Save/load is barely mentioned even in the manual, so saying that things are "lied about in the advertising" simply isn't true.

And secondly:

Quote: "I do however hope and pray for some sort of change or break through to make this garbage smell a little better."

Please. I'm going to quote something said to me a very long time ago on these forums: save us the sermon, reverend. It's sort of the shoddy carpenter blaming his tools situation--FPSC is what you make of it. It's modifiable, has a flexible scripting engine, is totally customizable--I really don't see what's really wrong with the program.

Oh, and about the whole "legitimate commercial game" remark--have you looked around you? This is the independant side of game development. Most of us make games for fun, anyway, and it's a tough job making anything legitimate in the first place--with any engine.

Of course, that's my opinion. If you want to go off to the Torque engine then go ahead, but please, please don't bother making a ruccus here when it's truly not necessary. We could really do without threads like this at the moment.
