I would like to say something here that will probably get me shoot.
What is it with this forum that has made it so anti Noob? I realy dont get it.

There are two reasons to go to a web forum of a computer language/package.
1) To find out the anwser to somthing
2) To give someone else the anwser to somthing
(If you want to add 3) To chat, than go join MSN)

What each vet should do is pick a couple of Noobs, (anytwo It dosent matter), and ALWAYS respond to their questions, in a calm sencible manner. (Even if you think they have asked somthing stupid). You will be "El papa"

I totaly understand how anyone who was here at the begining, misses those times when you all knew nothing, and you were forging trails through the bitter wilderness, and now you are being asked to be a tour rep for 18-30.

IF/When FPSC 1.1 (Or FPSC 2) comes out, you could be as a god to the newbies.

Question: Moderator, do you have the power to change thread titles? Cos if you do, why dont you?

Question: EveryoneElse, why cannot you think of a good title for your thread. (ie "HELP me"---- BAD. "Problem with entity positioning"---better)

EDIT: In fact learn to use the search before you post

HandK,

There is no legitimate reason why anyone of any standing at these forums should be given a hard time.

The Moderators here as far as I am aware do not and will not allow that to happen.

That does not mean that users again of any standing who pay no attention to the forum rules and guidlines and generally accepted good forum practices should not be told to do so when they pay no attention to such before posting. That should be done with some sensitivity.

In answer to a specific question : Moderators cannot edit the Title of the thread - only TGC officials can do that. Moderators could only refer any threads with innapropriate Titles to TGC or alternatively take action against those threads and in extreme cases of offensive Thread titles - delete the thread entirely.

Though deleting of threads entirely is an action not taken lightly by Mods they can do so and have done so in the case of extreme use of offensive thread Titles. Such use of offensive titles may well bring immediate deletion if a Mod assumes that its done purposefully to try and circumnavigate a Mod taking action against an offensive thread. That wont work - I have deleted such threads immediately and may well do so again in future if the need arises.
