I was using a texture yesterday on a landscape I made in C4D. But the black spots in the texture (there were many of them..) turned transparant becouse of the alpha effect. Im just wondering how to turn off this effect, I mean sometimes You want something to be all black. I used a JPEG file by the way.
Its probably easy to turn the alpha off, but how do I do it?

Don't have them as black (true black RGB 0, 0, 0). Change these bits to a colour close to black like RGB 2, 2, 2 and you shouldn't have this problem.

No. I remember that You can turn it off. (Its not possible to change all textures.) I think I can save them as .dds with no alpha.... Am I right or am I wrong? Im not sure......

If you save out a .dds from a paint program that supports them you should have the option to save with no transparency - if the prog allows a choice.

You may not need to do this and thereby keep the alpha channel intact in case you need them in future and decide to swith the transparency back on.

If you want this option - try instead setting a different - non default transparency setting in the script file transparency part (insert one if necessary) for a segment or alternatively for an entity specifying a texture transperency setting in the editor propeties dialogue box.

I use a setting of 2 for transparency - if you change the setting trying either specifying 1,3 or 4 for varying object types that may force a transparent texture to render as opaque. A little test will show which setting to use for which object type.

That may work and save permenantly removing alpha channels in textures.

-.dds 1 (No alpha)
-.dds 1 (With alpha)
