I've looked through the help files but I am having a hard time understanding some aspects of the way in which a limb relates to the object to which it is attached. Specifically, is there a way to set ambience, diffuse and specular values for a limb in the same way as you would for an object? i.e., I would like to create a limb from a mesh, attach it to an object, and have the limb be a different color than the object. As an alternative, I would be just as happy if I could convert an object to a limb.

I'm sure I'm just missing something that is obvious to all of you experienced gurus, but as a newbie who's not always sure where to look, I can't seem to find any commands to do either operation.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Never mind... I kept on searching the forums and I think I found my answer (by accident, though).

Hi, I realise you found the answer to your problem, but I thought I'd post anyway (especially in case anyone else wants to know)

I'd read a while ago that you cannot change the opacity of a limb, in DBPro naturally, but there's a (non-free) plugin that someone sells that allows you control over the opacity of limbs (as well as other things, I think). Sorry there isn't more detail, but it was a long time ago I read it.

@Tinkergirl,

Thanks for the follow-up. Actually I am way past that point now; I found a much better solution that doesn't require limbs at all.

But I appreciate you taking the time to post.
