Ok, this is also look-at-able in my showcase, but as I am gonna release these decals soon, I thought I'd show the lovely people that live in this forum only. or whatever.

They're a new light decal, which, I my opinion (you can disagree), look absolutley wicked.

anyway, whadda you think? Anyone interested? Comments feedback etc.

Wow, that is really sick, at first, it looked like a render, but then I saw the hud and knew it was FPSC. Great job though!

looks good, although i have some rather "complicated" criticism, the rays itself are great, but the thing that sticks out from a more realistic volume, is the lighting conditions. for instance, you have a warm sunset colour, yet the angle of light points directly down, almost like a midday/sunny environment.

i think an acute angle would make it look superb!

but great work, i particularly liked the first screen the most, it also looked like a slight motion blur of some sort caused by the light (sounds weird) but looks great

Damn you dude! You're right, and now that you've mentioned it, I'm gonna have to re-animate a new sprite that's on a slight angle!

Still, I'm glad that everyone likes. It's looking so cool, Theres a corridoor in this level, where you're bathed in yellow light, and the enemies are silhouetted against the yellow!!

I would ask how you did that,,but from the outcome of the pic,,your probobly going to keep it to yourself...as I would expect,,but great job. Like nothing I have seen here yet.

I dont think Jons right, you have to look at it from both views. The first view shows the sun right above the window, meaning the light would shine downwards, but if you look at the other view, it looks as if the sun has moved and the light rays should be angled. But because its fpsc, who gives a damn? I think it looks fine as it is.

yeh, thats what i meant, on the second view, looks kinda offset, but thats skydomes for ya! perhaps you could make a sun sprite? just a very bright overlay and have it hanging above the window?

not sure if that would work, but good luck with your game, its looking fantastic

I would just model the skylight as one model, and texture on the sun, that way you dont get different angles of the sun.

oh oK, I see where the problem is, on the second shot, where the sun looks on an angle, it's actually still in the centre. It just looks funny cuz of the angle the shot was taken on.

I think I might post a video of this, cuz it actually looks alot better than in the screenies.

Anyway, I'm gonna create a few more colours and angles of light, and then I'll release the light pack, which will also include a tutorial for effective use. (the screenies show a thick kind of lightray, good for dusty environments, but I'm working on a few others...

anything people wanna see?
