Hey, I am almost done my RPG. 1 problem. My movement isn't very smooth. how can i do this in DBC?

I just paste my images 48x48. Everytime my char moves, he moves 48x48 squares too. Is there any way i could make my scrolling smooth as ex: Pokemon?
