I am working on a shareware Model pack that will feature a number of modern detailed and animated weapon models. You may of seen my other RPG (Rocket Propelled Grenade) model already. This is the second weapon that I am making for the pack. Its an un-textured M24 SWS 7.62 mm sniper rifle. I am going to try and make it FPSC ready and then I will post a screenshot of it in-game.

=done
=to do

the model

UV map and texturing
add hand model
animate it
get it FPSC ready

the pack will contain about 10 modern weapons and a selection of modern entites and segments. I will probably sell the pack for ₤10.
I am still making my melee pack but this new pack is more interesting to model.

Some screens rendered with Gamespace 1.5

Please note that these are just early screens.

Very nice screenie there. Love the M-24 bolt-action. Are you planning on animating that part of the model?

Looking forward to the release of your pack. Do you know yet what other weapons you intend to include?

Hi Opposing force, consider adding the M107 Barrett .50 Caliber Sniper Rifle, it's an impressive and highly effective weapon, if you make a model of this best to give it a loud crack of a retort when fired and a powerful recoil.

Heres a new render with a basic texture. Is it good enough or should I make it better?

Heres another screen with a temporary hand model. I've got the rifle un-animated into FPSC. I made a gunspec and a custom scope and hud. Will post a screen and possibly a video of the rifle in action.

each gun will probably come with 3 different textures: Desert, temperate, urban etc.

Me, i like the texture. It's not too busy, suits the model very well in my opinion. Nice concept to provide multiple textures for each weapon based on environment.

Sorry to be nosy, but what "modern day" entities were you considering including in the pack?

the only thing wrong with this model is that the hand needs to be a bit more realistic. other than that, it looks awesome!

Ok...

Kerithion: Haven't thought about that much. I think I will take suggestion from the community about what entities I should include.

Some rocken guy: Thanks, I'll try and clean the textures up a bit like I said that was just an early texture design

da power pwnerer: Yeah, I am rubbish at modelling hands. That was actually the first hand I have ever modelled. It will certainly make it better before I release the pack.

Silent Thunder: In dollars I think that is $15. Not sure. Will have to look into that.

badger king: Thanks, I would leave it as it is but I think I may need to work a bit more on it.

The sniper rifle looks ok in FPSC but the texture is a bit messed up. May need to start it again. I am now working on the Colt M4A1 with silencer and optic scope. Will post somes screens later.
