how do i add texture in milkshape 3d?

use a uv mapping program, and generate a uv map, then fill in the little boxes and cover up the lines.

Nope. Milkshape has it's own texturing system that works perfectly well if not better than any uv mapping program. Do a google search for milkshape3d tutorials and I'm 100% positive you will find exactly what your looking for. You can even search this section of the forum for people asking for milkshape help where I have already listed sites containing tutorials for everything you need to know about milkshape. If I run across it I'll post it, if you find it before that then read them and follow them thoroughly. You won't be disappointed.
