I was rather bored today so I modelled my bracelet. Disregard the odd background image as I noticed it was weird after the render and I didn't wanna render the entire thing again. Click on the picture for the whole thing. For those intrested its the Red/Black Anarchist bracelet from www.studsandspikes.com

I highly reccomend it lol.

Looking very nice.
What rendering software do you u se again?
And is that render using a HDRI image? (I was thinking about putting up a tutorial about them)

Looks nice, but fix up the background, make the shadows lighter, and make the inside of the ring lighter.

@BiggAdd: Thanks, It's just blender's internal renderer lol. And i'm not really sure what an HDRI is, i just loaded a picture of some random image I found as the world image.

@Poke a fish: Thanks, hot topic is cool store i dunno if you can get it there tho.

@Quoth: Ya I'll fix up the background and render it a little smaller so it doesn't take quite so long. I can't believe I never really noticed how dark the inside was lol ill fix that too. Thanks!

You didn't actually make the ring lighter or change the lighting, you just tilted the camera to show the table. You still have the darkness issue, and the shadows are way too dark. It looks like a harsh light. What program are you making this in? It could really benifit from bounced light.

@poke a fish: Thanks!

@Quoth: I did in fact make the ring lighter. If youll notice in the first image the inside is pitch black and in the second you can see the overlapping parts of the bracelet. I tilted the camera because i decided I didn't want the background showing. This is being modelled and rendered in Blender 3d, and I am using ambient occlusion to simulate light bouncing. Perhaps I am not using enough though, in this scene I added some more lights, increased the energy of the ambient occlusion, and replaced the second view of the bracelet with my wallet. Thanks for ur crit.

Nice stuff the Mucky muck, looks like someone has been using goth merchandise websites as referance images resources Tip never buy a wallet from a small unknown little goth shop...mine fell apart.

I'd make that chain on the wallet a bit shiny, it looks like it is coated metal at the minute, unless its supposed to be

Lol Higgins I should! Too bad organic modelling isn't my thing.

Lol musashi actually the wallet is mine and same with the bracelet. So I had first hand refs lol. I bought the wallet at probably the only punk music store in wyoming, usa. Its a strange thing about the chain, i've got reflection cranked up on it and yet it doesn't seem to be reflecting anything, ill have to check it out.
(Some time later)
Ok i think it looks a little shinier now, tell me what you think. Plus I realized I didn't have the other side of the buttons on the bracelet so I added those.

looks great!

Ive seen the bracelets and belts with the colored studs and i dont remember them being so reflective, more opaque plastic. But your render is more interesting than reality .

Thanks oddmind

Actually my bracelet is pretty close to being that reflective, it is metal. But as you say, it looks better for it to be more reflective in the render.

It is a bit shinier, I think you will want to give it a more metallic specular, I wouldn't focus on just cranking up the reflection. Just play around with the specular settings and see what you get.

thats some damned good work, especially on your rendering. You've obviously put a lot of time into this, and havn't got lazy.

i would say that the wallet looks a bit flat, maybe it should bulge a bit to show its got something in it?

I don't have a sig, live with it.

nice model Mucky. Maybe making the red turn a little more of a burnt orange? It seems that way from the image...

Lol the poly count is obsenely high its 10k for the whole scene. I wasn't paying much attention to it since I was only aiming to create a nice render.

Thanks Bendstraw, mine is pretty reflective i dunno which ones you saw.

Like NOFX or Lagwagon? I do

You should try the burnt orange anyway cause it looks spiffy

Great model.

Into None More Black at all? the singing is so bad it sounds really good lol. Theyre one of my favorites as well.

Youve probably heard of them, but the Living End are also a great punk/pop band. All good stuff.

Anyway, lol, back on topic...great model hahaha
