i was wondering if a realtek AC97 audio sound card is direct x competable

If you have the product manual it will tell you if it is, if it is not mentioned check the vendors website. When you have questipons concerning hardware and compatability you should always check either the vendors website or the users manual.

Yes, definitely. Make sure your drivers and Direct X are up to date. Once they are, you can use the Direct X console to check the features of the system.

In Windows XP, goto Start, Run, type in DXDiag, and click OK.
