Really difficult or impossible to achieve inside FPSC currently which is why we dont have any particle beam type weapons included by default.
With a default SciFi section of entities in FPSC out of the box no such weapon exist - there are good reasons for this.
There are possible attempts at ideas that might be attempted practically by any user wishing to try and created such an effect attached to a weapon but by any measure it would be extremely hard to achieve anything like a quality end result.
Not really worth contemplating unless you are prepared for a lot of hard work and a poor end result or none at best as a reward for your efforts.
Without support for particle beams proper - then you cant achieve it - just a hashed work around possibly.
If anyone is serious about trying to introduce such weapons then they might as well start off by getting the source and creating true particle support for FPSC - that then provides some of the required pre-requisites - the rest is perhaps even more complicated if you are talikng particle beam type weapons - if you want advanced laser type weapons and alike.
Wait for TGC to give them to you or at least wait and see if the engine is updated with some of the pre-requisites before attempting this I would suggest.
If that dont happen - then if you must have them - have a go and see what you can achieve.
Thats my opinion anyway - no doubt someone will just go ahead and do it anyway and show us its not as hard as I suggest.
