All of the functionality of 1.6.2 is now embedded in the DGDK.NET version which will soon be complete. But while I was testing, and moving some of the samples over to VB.NET, a problem occurred, at which point I thought I'd screwed up.

It turns out that this is infact a problem in the DGDK library. The dbGhostObjectOn function worked ok in 1.1.1, but in this version, it seems to misbehave. You can even see this problem yourself by running the Camera sample under the sample browser.

(The sphere and the spinning cuboids around the mirror surface)

This image shows the problem:

This is an image of what the demo SHOULD look like:

Clearly, the dbGhostObjectOn function isn't working in the new version, or, if it is working, it's behaving differently.

Is this something that is being looked at, or is it something that just so happens to be specific to my video card? (GeForce FX5200).

Also, I am using the April 2005 version of DX 9. I downgraded the version to solve a linkage problem. I'll re-install an updated version to see if this fixes the problem.

Paul.

Definately not an issue with DX. I've now got DX June 2006 installed and the problem is still there. You can see it yourself just by running the Camera demo from the Sample browser.

So when is dbGhostObjectOn going to start working again? Or is there another way to get the same results in the meantime? The project I'm currently working on makes extensive use of this feature (it's a port from DbPro) - there's really no way around using transparency in my project as you have to be able to see objects inside objects, and see through objects etc.

Thanks,
