i'm am reading hands on darkbasic vol 1.
in 1 of the listings it says that . ink rgb(255,255,0), rgb(0,255,0) . will show the text in yellow with its background in green

but in either print or text i can only see the color of the text, with no background

how come?

edo,

You might have to use the TEXT 0,0,"Text" command to enable that feature. However, I am not sure and am not at home to test the theory.

Because text has a default of transparent background.

put "set text opaque" before your print or text command.
