This is will actually be my first 3D shooter - and I think contains a few new unique ideas to a DBPro game, namely a day/night cycle and thunderstorms (which will also slight affect visibility - which hasn't been added yet).

There are 3 groups of 10 baddies - later ones being harder to destroy and some have shields.



The object is to survive - dont let status reach game over. It will recharge (slowly) after if a baddie ends up in your place.

Likewise, you have infinite ammo, but will require reloading after 100 shots.

Control the crosshair via the mouse. Move the crosshair to any side to scroll around and/or up.
Left mouse button to fire, right to rearm and middle to turn 180 degress in the opposite direction.

The two player game hasn't been tested yet - that will be done later on.

I played it and it was kinda fun! Do you mind if I ask you a question? How did you get that nice circular light around the camera like that It looked nice! I hope to see this continue on to be a great game!

Its a spot light, high above the middle of the terrain and made to point down.

Oh so that's how you did that light... I can never get spot lights to work, what did you use for the inner and outer angles? Sorry to ask so much, you don't have to answer if you don't want to

It doesnt seem to work for me, it goes blindingly fast and I barely see any graphics

It wont work with dual processors - unless you disable all but one. Assuming you have one, that is. If you dont, then let me know..

Anyway, here's the multi-player version. Due the the key arrangement, the game can only detect 1 key at a time.

Its Cursor keys + "," / "." and "/"

I've now started the title screen (and add more to the game over one later on). Using Scraggle's world graphics (of which I'll grab 2 more later on), I've got a nice planet and the basic of the menu system. Have a look here :

I have that problem too... Only, my processor is an Intel Pentium 4, no dual core.

Strange it plays okay on my P4. Its also fine on Turion 64 processors...

Can you try the updated program from http://www.nicholaskingsley.co.uk/MiscThings/Duel_Demo.rar, and see if the planet whizzes around faster than an athlete on steroids. If it does, then it sounds like the time syncing routine needs changing And let me know your processor specs. too.

I've tried it on :

P4 2.4Ghz Machine (Windows XP Pro) - runs fine
Celeron 2.6Ghz Machine (Vista Beta) - runs surprising well
Turion 64 1.8Ghz (XP 64) - Runs fine

Thats because you needed to download the complete RAR file, and replace the exe file.

With any luck it will also deal with the mult-core problem too...
