My question is complicated, but how can I animate a .MAX object's vertices/polygons/elements so that when I export it into a .3DS file, it remains animated ?

Any help would be great !! Thanks, in advance.

I'm French but I try to write in good English

If you really had bought 3D Max, maybe you would have taken the time to become a member on the site so you could ask questions, But I guess your copy is from a torrent.

Man, your not right in the head. Thats the gateway to whatever you need to discuss and from there you get to the max forum of your choice. People around this forum wont hold your hand and powder your bottom in regaurds to 3rd party software. Funny I seem to get to my login page and log in from that link I gave you. Funny that you own 3dmax and don't know your way around their site.

Gees guys your just all out mean... Just because you paid for your copy you assume these guys are all ripping off this product....hmmm ever hear of trial version even though I havent seen a trial version doesnt mean there isnt one I just havent looked hard enough for it... Or hey maybe there someone like me who can fork out 3,505.35 for there copy "reciept in my hand".... And yes I have an account on there discussion forums and yes I am paying 2500 for my school at devry so I can learn this all proper not for FPSC but because I want to do animated movies..

Some people like me dont follow directions as well and seeing a living example is easier for them... Yes I know CD 2 has a ton of video tutorials but you got to know what to ask to get to the right tutorial or suffer watching them all. Maybe thats why these people ask simply becuase they are working with FPSC and are using a product thats well known in this community and that could be why there asking in here. And for you guys to snuff them because they ask all I got to say is shame on you...

Yes I got my double CD my CD Cover my book etc and I can scan the covers to prove I got it but thats the point why prove this to you guys you dont own the forum you dont own autodesk your just disgruntle and your attitude shows on the forum

I would believe this place is set for people to learn from one another and to help one another thats why they call it a community and I for one am willing to help if I am asked I would hope you all feel the same way....

This is just my viewpoint and felt the need to express it.... feel free to flame me all you want...

Here Here CLips, I use MAX and paid for part of it,
(through my job)
and I don't even know how todo 1% of what it can handle.

@ star killer7 like I said I not a max expert but I believe you would need the "PandaX" exporter plugin, then export to X.

I have'nt done any animation export into FSPC but my character export in DBPro hasn't worked yet.
I'll let some of the MAX experts chime in

BTW TurboSquid.com is great for info about Max and everthing else digitial media

INFORMATION SHOULD BE FOR TO ALL

Clips, why come to some ones defense and sound like ....well...you know what I'm thinking. Sure, there is a trial version. But if you read, I didn't get snappy till he said that wasn't the link to the forums which means hes lazy. And if your to lazy to look around, click a few things, don't use the trial of the most technical software around.

Has nothing to do with thinking anyone owns the forum. Has everything to do with detouring more idiotic questions in the future. And what could we show him here that couldn't be shown on the Max forums where it belongs....And thats saying you don't like reading manuals. You still have to read their post don't you? Or ours?

And this isn't a 3dmax community...this is a TGC. and since FPSC can't Handel .3ds files in the first place what would any info here about exporting animations help this community. By saying things like Higgins and myself did didn't hinder the community cause he didn't ask about .x files. Bottom line is hes unwilling to ask on their forums so why should anyone help?

Regardless of what anyone says, I find this method of getting sarcastic works with lazy people, and you very infrequently see the same kind of post by the same user after a set of post like these. But when ever you miss my wit and charm theres always the next person that asks the same thing for the thousandth time.

Look man...I wouldn't try championing some ones else cause.

lol...3ds animations? Why would you even hit post to skick up for this guy who clearly don't even read these forums....3ds animation...heh what the (LOC EDIT) you gonna do with animations in .3ds with TGC software...*shakes head*

Locrian hmmm comments like that I absolutely know what your thinking and the proof is in the pudding as they say. If your wishing proof ill send you over a copy of my reciept but then whats the next comment I am thinking hmmmm :::cough::: photoshop see the problem is there is no actual proof until your actually there with the person while there doing the business there claiming to do.

But the problem I see with people these days are they wanna close there mind to helping and thats all I am saying is instead of closing our mind why not help if the question is asked 100 times then why not post a sticky for everybody to see....

besides I think I was pms'ing when I posted my apology if I offended anybody.

You know how many stickys there'd be if all stupid/like/repeating questions were stickied? You have to look at post starting on page 6....Thats what a search engine is for. Thats why D13 keeps posting his "Don't name a thread 'Im a noob'" speech. Being part of a community is more then coming in and starting to post. Theres a lil research to do as well on the members part. I want you to take note of these posters for a few Clip. My bet is most have joined within the last 2-3 months and are just now off their probation.

hmmm I see your point.... I got an idea post the FPSC manual as a sticky label it - all you need to know about fpsc is in this sticky and see if this may slow it down just a bit.

And a sticky below it if answers not in previous sticky read here on how to get your answer.... with the sticky showing them how to use the search feature...

Best we can do I know there is going to be a high percentage that wont read the sticky and will be posting but instead of being negative just point them to the sticky with a smile...

Well hopefully this idea we can see eye to eye on "smiling"

Okay. Here is the way I see it.I don't answer too many questions about 3DS Max becuase I don't have and can't afford the software.
I am thinking if you paid between $2000 and $4000 for a program it has probably got some excellent support from Autodesk.
If you are too lazy to check out the Autodesk forums and other support services that they have then you are one of the wonderful people who don't read stickies, the AUP,any posts in a thread before you post yourself and are incapable of using the search function.
That is becoming a big problem with the forums here.People don't have the time to do any of the above even though it may take less time to start a new thread in which a subject has already been posted about several times.
I know if I bought 3DS Max you can bet you oats that if I have a problem with the software or a question about how to use it I am heading right to Autodesk and I am going to get an answer. For that much cash they should send a tutor to your home to teach you how to use it and bring you your coffee.
If you have questions about 3DS Max you should go to Autodesk. Most of the forum members here do not use it.
That would be your best place to get support.
