Dark Ocean is an RPG similar like Zelda and FF's..

You are one of those who have send in the racket to find new home planet because earth nature is dying.. And people dosent know why.. So you and your friends left in the outerspace.. Suddendly somekind of beast is attacking on rocket and the rocket flys on the planet.. You are the only who survive to this planet..

The Models are my make so i will change them to better if i get modeller

There is beta 0.1a but it can contain bugs and etc.. The game is still little buggy but i making the battle system more and more better because i love ABS battlesystem (Active Battle System)

Looks lovely

I'm glad that your game is coming along.



Although, I must admit, I don't belevie that you have a very well thought out title or story line yet. Dark ocean just sounds a little corny. I mean, at night, of course, its a dark ocean. But I mean, what is there to it?



I can help you genereate some story/plot lines and if you ever need any programming help, I'm here.

Yea sky isnt there yet.. i just made the battle system to nice.. Oh.. And the name dark ocean.. In planet there is ocean called Dark Ocean There lives the dragon Geysha who poisons all the planet like the earth (nature is dying) and etc.. But my story is not yet complete but those are some of my thinks..

and i think this game is coming along smoothly on my age.. lol

Well by the screens it looks like it needs quite a bit of work doing (the green stuff???) but the engine seems good, however you really should sort out the FPS problem; seems low.
P.S I didn't try your demo cos 50MB+ seems high.
Keep it up though and I'm sure it'll turn out great

hey, nice game so far, i love final fantasy vii

i would be happy to do some modelling for you, just tell me what you need, i can do some better looking modelling than say, final fantasy vii. ie. some of the later final fantasies. just tell me if you would like anything, like main character models and their weapons, and i can draw up some concepts

you could make the main char for me.. and some mans in space suit.. and new weapon (mines have too many polys) you could do it?

If you have tested the game Like the planet scene its only wip.. and in the rocket there will be your friends there and then when you talk somebody the scene will start or something like that..

Ye.. i dont know why the terrains looks like that.. on my event editior it looks lot of better.. Treborgoy ff7 chars looks nice and yes i mean astronauts..(ff7 battle quality and you are my modeller lol)

It looks like you have two different cameras, and one of them is overlapping the other. This wip looks quite early so I´ll comment it later when you´ve made some progress.

Yep i have two cameras.. Removing the other one.. and using only one camera then.. It's not early if you think that.. I just have made lot of functions battle system and some "Skeleton levels"

BTW zzz

Your game is cool.. I tested it yesterday and can you tell me how did you make those real life cut scenes?

the weird cut-off is created due the 2 camera's,thats what zzz try's to tell,not that removing one and its finished.

Actually looks pretty good! Yeah the graphics aren't great but there seems to be quite a bit of work done. And aside from in battle the graphics are actually quite nice too! Good work!

That System is tested and works correctly i have tested with 2 dwarfs on my side.. lol And summons are working with same system..

cloudef: check out the 3d section in a moment, i'm posting the character progress up, it's been a bit slow, because of other things getting in the way, but once im done modelling the rest of it and given it an awesome texture, it'll be worth it.

This looks good, I was trying to put my finger on who that guy reminds me of, and I got it, Kiriyama on Battle Royale.



Its a good start, I'd like to see more, lets hope your character is as sadistic as Kiriyama, that would be interesting.

Battle Royale! Yes more of that i say! Brilliant Film.

Anywhooo.

Its looking promising so far. The Frame Rate is a little.... worrying to say the least and some of the models look a little bit too high in the old polycount. But keep it up...

You seen the second one? My family keeps saying Battle Royale is a good way to clean up the chavs in England, except once the survivor comes out, you shoot em.

As for the FPS, I don't think 28 is too bad, depending on your system, I myself have trouble reaching 60 with an average amount in the scene, but models can be optimised better.

I think you went a bit excessive on the HP and MP though

IceBound Melodic rock/metal band with loads of lead guitar, clean female vocals, and more guitars! What more could you want?

I was today fixing some bugs on my game.. And i dint know what a f*** i did but my fps increased a lot.. Its capped on 60 and its 66.. Now i need to slow down my game -.-

I dont know about timer based but i use that when FPS goes higher then animations and speed slows.. Then when FPS goes Slower then Speed goes faster and animations too.. something like that :/

Thanks.. Oh and btw these particles are made with Bag Particle.. So thanks for the nice particle program.. But my game uses 3d effects too

Added fiend death anim (exgen demoheart ;D).. And tomorrow i start edit my code.. (need to edit over 3000 lines phew..) The death effect needs still positioning but it fits perfect.. You have no seen new updates in this thread because i have thinking the mini game on my rpg ..



I got better effect libary so i got rid of those bad looking effects in 2 posts later.. So now good quality effects lol..

(hint) Positive posts are cheering me up to make this game fast as i can

Okay i modifed my battle code about 1800 lines.. phew.. Next day i need to modife the hole game code.. 5000-9000 lines .. i dont like it..

Still looking for modellers and mappers.. if anyone intrested..

I need to practice me mapping, I'll probaly do a couple, watcha need?

By the way, this is looking good matey, as for your code, cutting it down, put as much as you can into seperate source files and functions, its tidier, but when I first set stuff into differant functions/sources I screwed it up, make up a back up copy incase you make mistakes.
