A dozen times or more this question may have been asked, but for myself and the sake of many others in the same situation as myself, which 3D modelling programs WILL work and animate correctly in DarkBASIC, and which ones are available to purchase from The Game Creators? May I have a list please?

Check out one of my websites. It explains how to use Blender to export models with animation to DarkBASIC Classic.

alternative:

Also check out this link from the forums. Should give you several lists.

Hello Sonic 91, Latch is right, you can use blender, or from that list from the forum go to JTedit, that program will be perfect for DarkBasic Classic, except if you have windows 98, or 98SE, like I have, it will not work with those versions of windows, believe me I tried. Now I am using trueSpace 4.3, it works perfectly for me. You should stick with Blender because is free, but if you get scared because it has so many buttons, you can go for 3D Canvas plus (34.95), or 3D Canvas pro ($69.95). The GameCreators website offers 3D Canvas pro (I never used this one).

I downloaded the free version of 3d canvas but I coudn't use it because my vider card driver was old. Software kept saying that I needed to update it. But that doesn't mean that you can not use it. I have a computer so old that I had to fight a T-Rex for it.

I was about to suggest Milkshape 3D, but then I remembered the DB classic bit. I had so many problems with Milkshape and DB Classic, I just couldn't meake it read exported animations. Apparently others did, so it is possible, but I would (for the first time in my life) advise against Milkshape... (if you had DB Pro, it'd be another matter entirely)

Truespace 3.2 works fine with DBC and is free.

Thanks, Robot. I've downloaded Truespace 3.2 and looked at some of the tutorials. I can already see what this program is capable of and I really think it will make a difference to my future games. Thanks a lot.
