OK i tryed to get a decent alien, and well.i got.

it could have less poly's for how it looks(Its 2174 Poly's)

Well heres a render with no render tricks:

Well,we cant see a single detail of the mouth and eyes on that one,so lets bring this one in:

OK,well.is it a nice first try for an alien model,or does it just sucks as hell?

Yeah, it's a bit high poly like you said but I like the colorfulness. I think a good texture would make it pretty awesome.

Model low poly, as poly reducers make your mesh a mess.

use DBP's set smoothing command, I think that'll fix your 'uglyness'...unfortunately, I've tried it myself, but I still look ugly...there is no cure for uglyness this bad.

You said your using 3dsmax?, try the following. Select all faces of your model, then scroll down on the parameters menu until you find "Smoothing Groups". Set "Auto-Smooth" at 80. It might make it look better.

Further on my stuff at...

The model looks really good, I remember my first attemp at making a humanoid model. is all I can say. It wasnt even worth saving. If this is your first attempt, imagine what you'll be like in a month! You'll be awsome! I have great respect to anybody who can model humanoid stuff. (or anything for that matter).

Very well done, keep up the good work.
