James, I'm not totally sure what you're asking but basically either way this isn't the place to ask.

If you're speaking literally and you're asking if you can make a game in Blender, then the answer is no, of course not! Blender is not made as a game creation tool, so the answer is naturally no. If this was your question, it is totally irrelevant and shouldn't have been asked here.

If you're asking if you can use models made in Blender, sort of. Exporting directly to .x will not work because it encodes the file differently to FPSC, so if you wanted a Blender model in FPSC I'm fairly sure you would have to export it as .3ds and then convert it.

Blender had pretenses back in the day at making interactive games, very complex, and nobody really did anything with it - I'm sure Blender is purely modelling these days, and scripting and extras is probably just used by the cut-scene animation system.

This is wrong.

Blender has an integrated 3d game engine. There is even a manual for it which you can buy.

It was neglected for a while but in the last six months has received some major updates, like this.

It has support for physics and pixel shaders. I guess it's kind of like a python version of DBPro, not really an FPSC analogue.

Also, you should be able to get animated Blender dx files into FPSC through Fragmotion. I can't remember if I ever tried this or not, but I seem to remember I got it working (I haven't used Blender for games stuff for ages).

Static files work fine. You just have to be careful of scale.

Shouldn't this have been moved to 3D Chat?

Yeah it probably does need to be moved, but I think that is the job of the moderators. Can not stand people who only state the obvious.

@ Jiffy: You couldn't be more wrong, there is an entire book dedicated to explaining blender's game engine. There is currently a project underway to combine crystal space(an opensource c++ compiler) with the blender game engine. As of right now you can't make much of a game, mostly just small arcade/demo games. But the physics are quite nice i think.

You CAN for sure make games with blender.
Very complex games.

The engine was there a while ago, but it didn't go through the same HUGE development as the 3d program itself (which is now on the same level as 3ds max, maya, XSI and such), but the guy behind the Havok engine: http://www.havok.com/content/view/72/57/ has completely rewritten the engine, and it is now very sweet.

So good luck with your game-creation in blender

well... I've tried creating games with Blender... I gave up! It's just too hard(for me that is )! Those logic bricks are driving me nuts! Besides, I've read that the Blender game engine aren't suited to big scale games(at least not yet). That's why I've switched to DBPro!

I only use Blender now as a modelling and animation tool for DBPro.

Who's the most foolish, the fool or the one that follows the fool?
