Here is my first model in Wings 3D... an extremely low poly sword.

but i have a question, in wings 3D i used vertex colours so i could colour my sword without having to use a texture. but when i exported it as a .3ds file it lost all of the colour. is there any way i can retain the colour when i export it?

cheers

what do people think of my model?

also is it possible to bend objects in wings 3d *mentle note: must download manual*

The problem is likely down to the fact your using .3ds, as .3ds may not support vertex colours, or atleast not the type your exporting, if you want basic colours then just make basic materiels and exit the diffue colour and apply it to whichever groups then export.

Hallowed are the ori.

In Wings 3D, once you've got all your vertex colours done and good, select the entire object and go down to "Colors to Materials" in the popup box that appears when you right click, it should be right above "Vertex Colour". Now itll retain the colours, however using this feature disables the object from using a texture, if later on you want to use a texture, select all of the faces on the model, right click, and select "Material -> Default", and itll be all good. (Some shaders wont work when vertex colours are used as well).

Your signature has been erased by a mod because it's larger than 600x120...
