Which is a fair enough price of admission (i.e. if it's the first GDK you're buying), specially so if one has in mind the work APEXnow out into it.

... but I really think current GDK users should get a fair discount if they cross-grade. Richard Davey, hasn't dismissed this possibility completely (see Newsletter 44 thread) but suggested I shouldn't hold my breath.

So, what's everyone's take on the matter?

I must say, personally, if it comes to shelling out another 50+ euros, and as much as I'd love to have the .NET version, I won't be getting it in a hurry...

I have vague plans for World Domination

I think if they offer a limited time only upgrade offer, I would pay. But for $60us, and I need a new vid card to run XNA, I'll be delaying my purchase.

I don't know if upgrading to .net is worth it. We haven't even got the c++ version up and running really well like DBPro and they've already got .NET out huh? To me, not worth the extra money to get yet another SDK. I think it would be very fair to allow those who already paid for the GDK to either have it, or get it for an extreme discount.

The scarecrow has no mind, but serves its function well.

I have to point out that you do not get all of these issues with compiler problems with the .NET version. The .NET version is literally plug and use. It's compatable with all of the .NET language versions, including SharpDevelop.

Paul, is it possible to handle different viewports in the same window "canvas"? Also, does it work with VS 2005? Finally, will newest add-ons be ported to GDK.NET (like Dark Physics, Dark AI, etc.)?

Having just purchased the current GDK I hope the discount is large.
