Well I started drawing a sword in Paint, but it started to look like an axe or something so I drew it differently. BTW, I'm not sure if this would go under axe or pole arm, but I'll stick with axe since I alerady named everything axe

Enjoy, you can find the sword in the 3D chat board as well.

Just showing 1 of every type of model in the pack... (e.g. axe, sword, gun, etc.)

After I show 1 of each I'll put it all in one final thread I guess.

Well, I would suggest making it all in the same thread. Not that I would care but there are certain people around here who might go crazy about it... But whatever floats your boat. As for the axe, pretty cool. One crit. I think the texture on the handle is a bit blurry. Otherwise pretty good. Keep on keepin' on

the handle is really small, or whatever that nub at the end is. theres no real tactical reason for the hilt being there, if thats what it is.

the blade's shape looks pretty cool, but the spiky ball thing is just wierd looking, not placed right.

Basically if you want to put fineline details in one sot you gotta hit the whole thing. that means more time or less details

I see what you mean. You know, I've been basing it off differently while drawing it. Every one of my weapon models, I base it off 'If someone was running towards me with that in their hand, would I be scared?'

Im not sure I would be scared of what looks like a plastic axe that has been painted....
It may be the ball type thing that is looking odd...but I like the blades... Work on the texture of the part where you hold it and the little hand gurad type thing.
I suggest using some photoshop magic, or gimp magic if you dont have photoshop...

Here is what I think of when I hear the word axe. (It may be ugly but its still an example...)

It's purty, handle should be longer though.

I hate you. You hate me. Trust me, we both know it...no need to let me know everytime we meet.

The handle looks like the weilder would drop it on contact. Battle axes usually like people to use two hands and a nobblby bit at the end to stop your hands from slipping off. Similar to my axe in my Orc WIP.

Other than that, your pack is coming along nicely

the textures really blurry.

you need to add some dirt and grime to it, expand your working gamut, put the dodge and burn tools away and paint with colours.

I don't have a sig, live with it.

xeno. i LOVE the style of it.
Though the texture should use some work. i suggest using 1020x1020 textures around that boat.
It looks a bit blured and define the blood from the axe a bit .
what are you using for your UV maps anyways?

That axe has a 256 by 256 UV map from Lith-unwrap. 1020 by 1020? I've heard you could get shot for that

But thanks for the input

meh. 1020 look alot more sharp if your doing it for a higher quality game.
around 500 would probably fit it a bit more

256^ is fine for a weapon, unless its for first person use, but then the mesh should be more complex too.

I made this sword to demonstrate proper poly usage to someone, but also did the texture too, which happens to be 256^. There's plenty of room for detail with a comparatively small map

I don't have a sig, live with it.
