It's a good start. Take a look at other site that provide content, especially the big name sites that have been there for a while. This is what we in the website field call free research and development. Look at their fonts, colors, schemes, layouts, etc. They spent big buck on research to get the most attractive, usable, appealing site possible. Don't let all that money go to waste.
That being said, I will talk about a few things that jump off the page at me.
As Keith said, watch your spelling and grammar. If you want to be taken seriously, get serious.
The red text is terrible on the eyes and too large, probably because that color combination is going to be difficult to read with a smaller font.
Break your page up into sections and add images to direct users attention to the content.
The freewebs thing is not great, but sufficient to start out with.
Add some eye candy and customize the main image. 100,000 people have that one.
