ok i know this will proberly get locked but what the [mod edit]

heres my question

after ready the copyright thread i just had to get in on the act and ask some questions

due to the release of microsoft xna

what copyright restrictions would there be on say creating a level in fpscreator using fpscreator media or not using the media

then am not saying 1 exists but say a user coded a dbo to 3ds converter

then using said level in xna gamestudio express to create a xbox360 game

so what would be created would be a game with levels built in fpscreator converted over then run through microsoft xna

that would basically be a fpscreator xbox360 game wouldent it?

would there be restrictions on this? what are the copyright implications?

just curious would love to know

am not saying this method is possible just a working theory thats all

As you are not allowed to make commercial games for the 360 using XNA Express this wouldn't be enough of a problem for us to follow it up.

The issue is people making money from our work outside of FPSC, i.e. for that which it was intended.

Nope, just like performing an operation with a clawhammer does not make it a scalpel.

That would just be some FPSC media used in a 360 game.

Ya know, I'm starting to think it's better to program a PC game than it is to program a console.

Unless they made DB360 then yeah, it's always gonna be a lot easier to make PC games than console games, easier, more fun, it's more of a hobby with DBPro than other platforms - you don't need to be a C++ guru or even spend much money to be creating PC games these days - enthusiasm can counter-act any lack of skill.

No, Lizz, that's what is being said. Since Microsoft just released a beta test of their XNA Game Studio Express, the question was asked if the game could be ported to X-Box 360. According to the big dogs, that would be agaisnt the license agreement.
