I just wanted to say, I never saw his hacking threat, I was souly saying sorry for being silly, not because some kid said he was about to hack my account and teach me a lesson.

Why not just reply in Badmonur's thread? instead of making this pointless thread and making a mountain out of a mole hill!

You should have a break from the coffee...

I have my own things to say that I missed.

A - I am totally against hacking, consider a flame there. (If anyone gives me the hacking/cracking, technically programmers are hackers speech, I don't give a damn)

B - Higgins only brought it up, the idea that he wasn't 100% sure, no way about it, you're gonna get people that won't trust you or your work if you just suddenly pop out of nowhere. I tend to question people on how they aqquirred legit copies of Max, although it is likely they paid for the student version.

C - Dude Badmonour, you do need to sort yourself out, I mean no body has yet been offensive, but contructive, even if a plagerism issue did come up...How on earth you'd be offended as deeply as your reaction shows makes you a ticking time bomb, that quality kind of draws attention to you, and taking things so seriously can make you a target for people to provoke that (not here though)

D - Not a threat, but a warning? You mean you are bodyguarded by hackers who watch what you do and you have no control over? I highly doubt it, therefore the hacking 'warning' is a threat in my book.

E - If I find I get hacked after this, I will complain to forum moderators/admin and allow them to take legal actions, or provide me with info to do so myself, my sister is a chatroom admin, she knows where to take the info to get an ISP ban for you.

I didn't think much of Badmonur at first, but when I saw his threats I just giggled.

"Don't mess with people you know nothing about. This is a warning. Etc"

Woaw. We got another virtual tough guy here or what? Please.

I used to play a MUD game, that a friend created. There was a member who acted though, said he did push ups every day. One day, he hacked the database to cheat at the game, so he was banned.

The guy who ran the game, was nice enough to give him a second chance to play the game again.

But to tell me I would have my account hacked, is not very cool. Maybe you got a little ticked off because I said you where a theif. But there have been a lot of people coming out of no where, saying they are artists. We then find out they have stole most of the stuff they do, if not all of it.

I think most (if not all) of us individually could beat up any internet tough guy on a geek forum...(I say geek, because some forums have real hollow headed tough guys) But remember violence begins violence, so if I were him I'd be careful, but I'm the kind of person that doesn't carry on violence, but ends it, if someone does something illegal to me on the net, the legal action finishes it, sending me pathetic emails, talking finishes it, a guy with a fist, defense and getting away ends it, a viscious guy, broken arm, unconsciousness, certainly ends it and teaches him a lesson, geeks know too much , even if I suck at being one.

I just can't bring myself to take online threats seriously...I mean, is someone actually going to be intimidated over the internet by text?

I wouldn't take it as far as "a broken arm and a knock out" because that's just abit careless and extreme. But I'm somewhat positive that if you were to meet any of these cyber-machos at a geek-related convention, they'll be re-thinking their words.

(Do they even come out for conventions? Probably not. )

Any one online can be who ever they want, so if your really weak in real life, you might act like you have mucels bigger than your family car. Maybe really strong people in real life like to act weak and geeky online?

Who knows, I could be a very smart chimp, being tested on to see if I can use a computer and talk to people.

(If I am lucky, I may get a credit card as a reward, then I can order in processed dung to make statues with.)

It is hard to take them seriously, even hacking, okay they may screw you around a little, a good firewall keeps them out, when making a threat, makes their IP address easier to get hold of, even if scrambled. Meaning an ISP ban, as hacking breaks EULA included within your ISP.

Macho's in general are amusing, on the myspace Left wing (I think it was left, I get those mixed) forum a macho right wing 'security guard' I love Homeland security and the army sort of person. (To us Mall cop) His insults and Machoness and attempt to political debate was so stupid and bad we basically laughed at him constantly.

Wow...what a wonderful display of interwebular foolishness...it's kind of like people in Yahoo Pool/Chat Rooms threatening to come find you with their gang and show you a lesson(sound a bit specific? Well, I've had at least 5 people say that they'd bring their posse on me).

I think internet aggression is wasted. You're threatening and being rude to people you'll probly never meet, never work with, etc, when you could be off doing something productive...or at least enjoyably wasteful. Seriously, people need to chill out online, save your "toughness" for REAL LIFE where it actually matters a bit.

I hate you. You hate me. Trust me, we both know it...no need to let me know everytime we meet.

The guy hasnt been banned yet, however he has no more chances regarding hacking anything near this site.
1 warning is enough and should be extended to all newcomers who should toe the line, its a fair decision to allow one hiccup at the start.
I wouldnt like to be in his shoes from now on however as this has immediately soured his friendship connections here.

Haha, well said. If you're gonna act badass, atleast do it in real life. So then you can get a good beating and become a humble person once more.

1) There's no need to flame people just because they are misguided (in this case only slightly with the looking for work thing) just use sarcasm to give them the picture

2) Hackers are idiots.. yes, all of them. get a girlfriend.

3) the most one has ever done to me has logged on to my old old e-mail account and deleted everything in my spam box. waghhhrggh! (manly pose)

4) the point of this post is to end this thread, no one actually cares! let it die.

Brains are for idiots.

I'll you on that advice, not a hacker, but hey I'll take it anyway .

Trebor, I am mostly against flaming, but I feel if I need to illustrate a point to somebody, beyond sarcasm, to me sarcasm is more rude, its as though you're insulting them in a 'point the obvious because you're thick' sort of way. (Depending on your attitude, friendly/light hearted sarcasm is differant, and does not working on these kind of points)

Flaming people because they say something stupid, ask something stupid or do something stupid or along those lines does not deserve a flame, threatening, abusing, insulting, being aggressive in any way or flaming others on unjustified reasons deserved to be flamed in my book.

This is considered flaming now? You guys obviously hadn't been around for the good old days.

*Goes into old man with a pipe mode*

Yup, back in those days young rascals such as Badmonur were raveged like...like...homeless children being chased by dogs.

Something like that.

P.S
UFC sucks.
