i am in the process of writing a menu for a game under development.
i usually do the menu in the end, when i feel a demo is ready.
but this time i wanted to make the menu first, because i had a brilliant idea!
if you are interested in helping me out with drawing the menu then read on:
the menu is nothing special, it is 4 pictures (or photos from those old optical cameras, that print the photo secounds after the picture is captured). they are meant to be positioned on a table/floor, face up.
they have written text (hand written font preferably) "New Game", "Options", "Credits" and "Exit".
the menu uses 6 images;
1) "color image" (that my code reads to indicate what item the mouse is currently positioned over), and the original menu.
it will be hidden under the original, and not visible to the user.
2) the original image that will be displayed at all time.
3) the original image but with the "New Game" picture Hughlighted.
4,5,6) same as 3, but with the other "photos".
i hope you are still following me?
if not, have a look at my current menu, and you will get some ideas of what i am talking about:
THIS IS THE ORIGINAL IMAGE:
I APPLY A COLOR MAP OF THIS IMAGE:
THE RESULT IS THIS (this is also the image for when credits is highlighted):
Why do i want a new menu? because i suck at art, and i know people here are better than me! and as you can see, it looks like some of those photos are flying in the air.
I hope you are interested in helping me out! you will get a position in the credits.
