I like magic world alot it's easy and fun, I'll sit for hours making levels in it. But I guess it depends on what you want to make as I've used them all.

1- magic world- I think would make good RPG levels
2- matedit- clunky but good for almost any game with a matrix
3- cartography shop costly kinda, but fun to use too, makes levels for FPS games.

We could have handled that better.

I said it was easy and fun not that it was perfect... But if you can adjust your computer's res it might fix the problem.

We could have handled that better.

ex. 640x480, 16
res = resolution or screen depth

try setting it differently, its in the control panel under display... Once agin I don't know if it will work or make any difference since Darkbasic sets it's own resolution but it works with some of my progams.

We could have handled that better.

I use heightmaps (manual matrices, not terrains)
and then save an array with image numbers. You can use this 2 do it manlly. Its also because i have trouble using matedit

I make terrains in MAX and then covert to X. Get more control over them. Maybe not in runtime, but in general.

On my site you can find only too bugy, small, fucking, idiotic, free source editor. You can't find my new MeshMatrix (mesh instead matrixes are in use) editor. Only two people have it: me and DMiTR0S.

I'd like to change the world, but God doesn't want to give me sources!

Magic World crashes when you select a texture? I'm assuming you mean when you open up the dialog select the bitmap you want to use, right?

Hmmm....Do other programs made in DBC give you any problems? If not, just try re-downloading it and unzipping it. Or just reinstall it. You never know what kind of freaky things computers can do.

The moon empowers my blade and commands me to destroy you all!
