Hi all

I am sure that this question has been asked before me, but I couldn't find it if it was, so forgive me for re-asking it.

I am fairly competent at C++ and would like to explore DB. I have played with the demo and wonder if the GSDK would be more for me? From what I read, the GSDK has all the features that DB Pro has, plus being much much faster.

So, basically, what are the main diffs between DB Pro and the GSDK? I am currently using Visual C++ Express. I am interested in making some 2D arcade shooters as well as a rogue-like adventure game, that I coded in C++ as a console text based game.

Thanks for the help/advice.

It's better to try and fail, than to fail by not trying

The main difference is that a) GSDK is faster than DBPro and b) It can be used in C/C.Net (if you want to have real fun) or even C#.

Come to the last Unofficial DBPro Convention - register interest by Saturday 2/9/06 (http://convention.logicstudios.net/)

Yeah, GDK is heaps faster than dbpro.. plus you get to use all the cool c++ language features and mix and match stuff, allowing you to really do anything you want. Problem is, the GDK is lagging somewhat behind dbpro in terms of stability/functionality these days, so when you buy it you'll probaly find half the, err.. manual is wrong, some commands don't work, others are buggy .etc.. but still I'm having a heap of fun with it and will never go back to dbpro.

Besides, there will be many more updates to the gdk to come so it WILL get better

I love the GDK!
