Okay all, I've just finished my first ever weapon model, and im pretty proud of it... Cant seem to get the UV mapping tool working for some reason, though... (Made in Anim8or)
Attached is a few angles of it.
Will post the anim8or file and 3ds files zipped in next post! If anyone wants to texture, and make it FPSC ready, just go for it, as long as you post it back here!

Free for commercial/none commercial, if it gets sorted out.
C&C welcome,

Yours in Gaming,
Dan

Wow, a Desert Eagle that looks like a Desert Eagle (even without the texture). Good work.

Aeroware and Distur bing13; you are the same person, how many times do we have to tell you guys that we can see you IP addresses? I don't appreciate you intentionally impersonating a member who had to leave because of family issues; especially one who has given quite a bit to the community.

Your alter ego has been banned, and you have been slapped.

I was not looking forward to looking at this...

"another cardboard cutout, i thought.

but no! Lo-and-behold this is a pretty tasty looking model. With a bit of curviture to the barrel, and make the hammer slightly thinner it'll be a fantastic model.

Good work.

Great to see a quality model!

I have to hand it to you.
Like Butter fingers said I was expecting another cut out gun.
This gun actually looks like a gun.
Keep up the good work.

Off-topic:
Someone actually had the audacity to imitate D13? Oh I hope he got at least a two-weeker for that one. It's one thing to impersonate a board member, but to have it happen while the guy's M.I.A....that's just disrespectful all-around. Aeroware, if all you got was a 'slap' and the ban of the alter, you got off light for that one.

On-topic:
Now that's some quality work right there. Even the trigger guard looks mighty detailed. You keep putting out work like this, and you're gonna quickly become a favorite on the boards.

Aeroware was banned as well for degrading another member's work.

Very nice texture job; for a first gun, you've done very well. You should be pleased. What's the poly count?

1317 polys is that about right for a weapon?

Is it possible for someone to animate, if i post the 3ds?

Is that the number when the model is triangulated? If so, then that is a good number.

It appears to be triangulated. However, you appear to have used way too many polys on the width of the gun.

You could have had the same looking gun, for around 300 polys. I would personally start it again, and make sure to use the least amount of polys as you can.

You could delete all the excess edges, and keep it though.
