Hello everyone,

I have been working for a few weeks on a giant texture pack to help out everyone with their FPSC projects. Included in this pack is...

Textures:
-Over 60 different textures all seamless and 512 x 512 pixels
-Diferrent categorys including nature, walls, metal, concrete, tile, carpet, and more

I was wondering how much you guys would pay for a pack like this. I attached a little sample pic with a couple of the textures with the pack so you can see some of them. I have shrunken the textures so that they could fit and the quality was changed. The real textures are much more high quality.

I presume that you will be confirming that these textures are made by yourself?

Original textures should be at 1024 x 1024 pixels for use in FPSC 512 x 512 pixels are not high enough resolution.

Users can always decide if the want to resample them downwards but upwards resampling is not an option.

1024x1024 for segments? I thought 512x512 was the limit for those.

Not sure theres actually any limit inside FPSC to texture sizes.

There is a limit though I believe to FPSC display res for texture display is that not so? - I am not sure therefore there would be any point say in using textures above 1024 x 1024 on any object. I would for example refer to something like a terrain which could certainly benefit from a much larger texure if it used a one piece skin.

The point being that any texture in any case could be used for an entity and not necessarily restricted to use for segments.

I use numerous entity objects for example where they need such textures as they are placed in floor locations and might have a grass, concrete or stones texture or alike. Some others I use as wall entities which might require a wood panel texture - they are not placed as segments - though they might also be of course.

yes, I promise that all of these are my own work using my digital camera, and photoshop to make changes.

I've not got a Digital Cmaera - I should get one and take some shots - obviously a great way to get texture shots for anyone making games though I am no expert photographer.

And the original Max Payne was a great game.

I have used my digital camera to capture shots of stuff like boxes of cereal,pop cans,etc.
The pictures can be used to make great textures for models.
And the camera is digital so no matter how many bad shots you take you don't have to worry about wasting film.

Thanks for the comments guys. Yes, using a digital camera to make textures is great and is very easy. You don't need to be a pro photographer to make the the textures either. I think that along with the pack, it will have a guide on how to make your own textures using pictures online or taken with a digital camera.

IMHO, this would be most valuable to the community indeed. I am a firm believer in teaching as opposed to giving. Be careful with the online pictures portion and be sure to include information on the use of online images.

yes, I also thought that this guide would be great because the people who buy it can learn to make very good textures, or they can use the many great textures that I have supplied.

DO you guys think that $6.00 (a little over 3 pounds) is a pretty good deal for all of these textures? That is like paying about 9 or 10 cents each for each texture.

Sorry for the triple post, but I have a question. I have made over 30 crosshairs for FPSC. Should I include them with this pack, or should I make a completely different pack?
