Tried it in Vista Beta 2.
Make sure you install the appropriate graphic manafacturer's drivers (don't use included Windows ones; not that you would be tempted to (PERFORMANCE LOL!1)), and then grab d3drm.dll from somewhere.
D3drm.dll was literally the only thing that was missing.
Oh yeah, and performance sucks in a window (1-10 fps, never got more than 25). Fullscreen ALWAYS (reasonable framerates). Or turn off Vista Beta 2 prettiness and revert to bog-standard GDI, minus awesome composite stuff >.<
.. Yeah. Chances are that the Vista Final will be better (and Vista RC1 is out as a public beta albeit less widely publicised, try it!) in terms of support. That is to say, NOT having to track down d3drm.dll from somewhere...

With d3drm.dll and Beta graphics drivers, all works. Perfectly.
