I've been doing quite alot of reading recently, and I just wanted to reccomend Half Real, by Jesper Juul. It's a breif history of games, how games evolved, and then the majorety of the book looks at the different ways that game engage the player, and why this is.

It's really inspiring, and makes you think about the way you build your games, and how easy it is just to make something exactly the same as 1000 other FPS games.

Anyway, I know alot of people won't care about this, but I just thought I'd put it out there, and ask:

does anyone know any other good theoretical books based in videogames, 3D art or Level design? I really want to build up a theoretical background!

Your level design is brilliant anyway, just my opinion but I don't personally think you need any 3D art or Level design information.

Evil Star.

Thanks man, but I don't feel my level design is by any means perfect, and it's always interesting to read new info, theres alot in the book about the psycology of how people play games, and how games can be design to appeal to certain psycologies.

Don't worry you will be one of the first to beta. Actually it should happen quite soon.

I'm down for some collaboration. A joint-project would be sick.

Butter fingers,

Everyone should have and read a copy of :

Game Design - Secrets of the Sages. Second Edition (at least)
by Marc Saltzman (Editor)
BradyGames : www.bradygames.com
Macmillan Software
ISBN:1-57595-442-2

Its a great investment in both money and time.
