firstly thanks for reading this post.
I am interested in feedback on this model i am creating it will be low poly suitable for games. The model is basically a punk like dude which comes from darkmatter. Who drives a four wheel bike armed with a minigun. It will be animated. Im thinking of using it in my game for when a user takes to long to finish a level this punk character comes and tries to finish you off.

is that mini gun from FPSC? looks good though man, I would add a seperate turret for that minigun, place it on the side of the vehicle. also I think the dune buggy is not colored right to be a machine of death unless you are going for that twisted metal look.

nope the mini gun aint from FPSC its a free model without texture i plan on creating a texture for but still got to learn how to do decent texture creating in 3ds max. The prob is i get a texture creatured with the texture create tool that cant really be used the dune buggy has all the insides but i was thinking about lowering the poly count a fair bit, i want to keep the character in one piece incase i decide to throw him out when the machine explodes.

I like the idea of the mini gun on the side i could have one either side that way. At the moment he has hand on handle but i want to improve it and eventually i have a friend that will create a texture for the buggy with graffiti on the sides suit the pink character

I would also like to know how i can make 1 texture on several different objects without making them 1 object if its possible.

I may release the model as a free complete model without the punk inside when finished and include a new punk texture incase someone has darkmatter. But theres lots to do to it and Im studying and got assignments and tests at the moment and also have an idea for the programming comp but prob wont get it done in time.

answer to question above, what i usually do is to map out the coordinates on separate maps as normal but break them up in quadrants or whatever then copy and paste the wire frames in layers on one single map in photoshop and whola... This allows me to map everything with one map without having to combine them into a single object...

a great example is my ornamental plant models, they use a 1024 x1024 map which normally would be too large and an overkill for 15 separate plant models, however I was able to squeeze the uv cords of about 15 different plants on the one map....

looks better set in the frame. Though you shoudl think about a swing arm for that gun. It just seems to impracticle to use effectively. The whole point the buggy at what you want to kill is a bit outdated.
