'boned' low poly humanoid in directx or 3ds - which I could then apply animation to in milkshape etc? anyone know of any links - all the free humanoids I've so far come across are 'comic' style, dressed variously or in some way unusual - I want just the very basic but natural humanoid form - but already rigged and jointed...? anyone>?

I've never had experience of anyway to import rigged (which is the term I hope you are looking for, boned just sounds too rude ) models into a 3D app, when transferring data, the info you usually get is usually is shading, smoothing groups, texture data and UVMaps, I guess the only time you see animated/rigged data is when the anims are just played, but I don't think they will in anyway will be editable.

However, my knowledge is limited in that area for 3D modelling, so I do hope you find that you can do that.

why not take the model from Johnny Ree's post, and try to rig it yourself? That way you at least have the base model, and it could be good practice to rig it. Just a suggestion.

Problems? Yes I used to have those...until I went insane.

Duffer: The hands will need some more work though with the fingertips and the joints. The model I made wasnt made for closeup on the hands. Have fun with it though
