first of all try the new comers forum (http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_read&i=7)

ans secondly, try the tutorials that come with darkbasic

other than that there is no real 'quick' way, you just have to practice and ask questions, but you can't really asked questions until you know what you want

For some it comes easier than for others. I myself only needed one tutorial to get started, so I reccomend the Binary moon tut if you are using DBC, and then study all the codes in the guide book, after that just look through some code snipets to see if you understand how they work. You should be able to start atleast a small project after that.

Cocacola and Pepsi aren't that differnt. Deal with it.

Whenever you start programming in any language (I myself program in BASIC languages inc. DB), all I can say is that you will think you are moving too slowly at first. But don't give up. Learn, read tutorials, and remember, the forums are there to support you every step of the way. It may take some time, or you may grasp it very quickly, but you will eventually get there if you stick to it. Good luck.
