Hi, I'm a newbie to this program... anyway, is it possible to make your own segments, sound fx and guns? Because if you could, you could do just about any thing with this program... 'cause I don't want to make a stupid game where you're a secret agent and you have to kill vikings or zombies or something like that...

I've never used Magic FPS.

I use Signs 2(free), Portable Gimp 2.0(free), anim8or(v0.95BETA, also free), DB Converter, Entity Creator, and finally UV Mapper.

The Gimp
anim8or

As for sounds, I use Magix Music Maker 10, Cakewalk Kinetic 2, Sony Acid XMC, and Sony Sound Forge.
Hope that helped!

Silent you need to update to the free version of Signs III. I'm making a few changes to my site (the free version will be back online in a few days.) It does more things than II. You have quite a bit of sound / music software,

I downloaded signs3 and it couldn't make walls, rooms or anything else, just floors, it sucked.

It said something about buying the full version.
So, nah, I want the free version instead.

Also, that sound stuff, was paid by Microsoft, so that made me happy.

also, I wouldn't recommend putting your IP address out here, people can get maps to your house and stuff so that isn't good.

Not to mention, use gotomypc to hack into your computer.

I personally use the more expensive programs:

Poser 6 - Making the animations

Maya 3d (Heck of alot better then Max) - Making the models to be animated, and exporting the animations.

Milkcrap 3 - Err milkshape 3d - Exporting and Importing from Maya to Poser, Poser to Maya.

Segments - Nothing yet, getting magic3d.

Photoshop cs2 - Textures

For you, i'd recommend getting anim8or, Gimp 2.0 for textures, and magic 3d or signs for segments.

I do agree though, it is pretty boring shooting zombies.

Death is only the end of the physical realm, eternity in the astral plains awaits you. But people are ugly there, and there are not very many multiplayer video games. So stick with earth for a while.

I've heard people say that this is better than $800 of Max software.

Is it free?
And is it better?

Don't remember it's exact price.

No, it is not free.

Maya 3d is also an autodesk program.

The latest is around 2k, but that is the super uber special nice edition.

3ds max, I have seen jump to 10k$ before.

But, don't buy all of these just yet, I still can't get any animations with big programs working.
