Hello, I know that these kind of posts pop up all the time. But, I'm not asking anyone to make models for me, and I am definitely not asking for a team request. Because I am making a game that will be given free and open source, the models don't have to be original(But not ripped off of another game either). If anyone has ANY models from list below please contribute them to this project. You can see how well it is going along at the W.I.P board here:
http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=90271&b=8
I feel really bad asking people for models, but my game is currently playable as far as the coding goes, and I have sort of hit a dead end with media. You can see my attempt at modelling. Those models took me a LONG time, and the level isn't even finished. (I only gave up on level because it wasn't going to work any way. some textures weren't showing up right.)

Needed models:

MAPS
(currently only supports CTF. But all levels are welcome because I am looking to add more game types.
PLAYERS pretty much anything that could be a player in a FPS game.
guns haven't really decided on a theme, but the one gun I do have is a modern day looking sniper rifle.
FLAG Need 1 OR 2

Send to:
laptop-44@hotmail.com

Any contribustions will be GREATLY appreciated and most likely guaranteed use.

there are websites full of free models, dont tell me your too stupid to type 3 words max into google, or the search bar at the top.

Games begging for resources usually dont ever amount to anything but a cripple with a cup. if your really serious about this game, you should look into getting a full time modeller, learn to model yourself, or spend 15 minutes on google.

Don't call someone stupid and then use your as opposed to you're.

Anyways, your best bet would be Turbosquid as it has a large amount of free models, granted alot of them are high-poly and in a format you can't use in DBP, but it's a good place to start.

Oddmind: I must agree with those under here, I'm your friend and thats why I'm telling you that this was a bit uncalled for. This is a valid request and I see no reason to flame him as for what has been written. Please reread the original thread and and compare it to the usual request ex:"Plz model 4 me"

I apolgoize to you Oddmind, but I really do feel that was wrong.

your right, my apologies for snapping at you. I'll contribute some of my work to your project.

Life sucks lately, thanks for not letting me get out of hand.

Thank you for the replies.
To possibly encourage more people to contribute I would first like to say that I have spent time looking for models. But I don't want professional ones that have 1000+ polygons for only a pistol or a rifle. I just need decent looking guns work. Also It will be very hard to find maps that are compatible with DBPro online.

I also posted a demo here:
http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=90271&b=8
at bottom.

I might suggest X format for DB... just runs better than 3ds.

Ok, I found a bunch of really cool gun models. But, they aren't loading in DBPro for some reason. Here is a simple shotgun:
http://storeandserve.com/download/480596/Shotgun.3ds.html

It is only 103KB and it loads just fine in anim8or. But, when I try to load it in DBPro it doesn't work.

I think I should try converting them into .x format. I did some searching and I found a hidden DBClassic command that will convert .3ds to .x. It also appears to be a command in DBPro, but I'm not sure exactly how it works. The command is:

3ds2x 3dsfile$, destination_x_file$

DBPro recognizes it as a command, but it doesn't seem to work for me.

[EDIT]
I have found a solution to my problem. I found a program to convert .3ds models into .x models and they load perfectly.

gman, did you try the Fpsc section of these threads - they have tons of static objects (FPS types) available which some or most will be in .x format....

There's some free game models to be found in the forums at Ozark Games; made by myself, as well as some contributed by members (JimB has a couple of good looking, untextured, weapons in his section there).

Thank you everyone for your support. I now have some media to allow me to continue my project. The main reason I was asking is because My models In .3ds weren't showing up properly. But now that I have found a method(above) of converting them to .x I think I can manage a few decent models of my own. However, my models are nowhere near professional so as my project nears completion I will probably need some help. I will post a demo of the project when it is finished, and maybe people will help then, if it turns out good.
