You could sort of cheat, and using, say Byrce 5, create a terrain and export the heightmap and use that.

Aside from that I know know of anything that would export a 'complete' terrain.

Yeah both programs do that, what I really was looking for is a program to export the complete terrain with trees and grass etc...

Assuming that you are exporting as .x, 3D CanvasPro will do that...create a terrain, populate it with whatever, and export it as .x In fact, so will many other programs.

I am going to try to do it this way....start out with terrain, populate it with other landscape items. Then make some buildings, etc. I will place that inside a hollow cube, and export as a .map file. Then, I will run q3bsp2.exe on it and make a .bsp file. That is the best way, imo. [This will be with CS, or 3DWS, not 3D Canvas Pro.]

Carrara 5 produces pretty good looking lanscapes... not sure if you can export the whole lot. Must look into it.

I have vague plans for World Domination

i love the editor that comes with farcry.. i use that, export the textures and heightmap. Works a charm, i own world builder, tes and like a gajillion other terrain editing programs, but in the end i just use the farcry sandbox. Its the best

Question: can you use the editor that comes with Farcry to make levels to run on other engines?

I suspect not... they normally disallow that...

It may use the same licensing issues as what Valve placed onto the Hammer Editor for creating HalfLife levels.
