Hi All!
I'm currently working on Tachyon Rush, a future racing game.
It's a project based on an already finished DarkBasic game for the Caiman/TPS Contest, named TPS-speed (if you want to have a look at it visit my website for the free full game, link at bottom of the post).
This new project starts from that game engine and my efforts will be focused to create a whole new game with new graphics and gameplay.
Now an image with five racing starships I created
Please let me know if you like them and which one is your favourite:

2 & 5 are really great, but the others also look quite good.

The earlier racer is good, but could have used some improvements with steering and track design... The engine effects were great, but definitely have the potential to be amazing.

You make great games, so I'll definitely follow this thread.

Thank you all for nice comments and feedback

About TPS-speed, I noticed some of you found the steer a little woody. Ok, I'll fix that in Tachyon Rush
Anyway if you go to the settings page you can add points to the left/right steer removing them from thrust or max speed ending up in a more agile ship

I'll add more track variety and stuff on track side

I'm currently working on a Demo version with one track but it's still all messed up, anyway as soon as I have something ready I'll post it here

I tried out the game, but the frame rater was but a tenth of what it should be. I guess it was something about 5 fps... Could be my laptop, but I don't think so. Should an ATI X300 along with a Centrino 1.86 GHz-processor handle this game?

Those specs are well above my PC, and that handled it fine.

I like the game, and (drum roll) number... 2!

I like the asymetrical design

@Stora tomtefar: as King said your PC should run the game well. I tried it on a 1.3 Ghz Athlon with 256Mb ram and Radeon Sapphire 9200 and it ran perfectly.
Probably on your laptop you use shared memory for the X300, and this could cause problems since I use very big textures and if you have a graphic card with shared memory and you have other programs running at the same time it consumes many system memory.
This doesn't happen on a graphic card with dedicated memory (my experience)

Nice! looks like it could be a new F-zero GX. Now that would be awesome! Good luck.

Nice to see someone is still using DOGA
The textures are really good! How did you manage to texture the models?

Oh, and I like number 4.

HeHe.. but I don't use DoGa, I'm using Anim8or instead, in combination with UVMapper to map the textures and many paint softwares (Ultimate Paint and others) plus a lot of handwork on bmps
Basically I hand make metallic low relief on the bmp where I want to have separate parts as panels on the ships and stuff, then I apply some gradients and grain effects to make it more realistic, then I add some decals and numbers and logos (It's not so simple really but that's the main process )
