In the process of finishing up my Game Polish program I now have an FPSC optimized installer program sitting around as well. Since not everybody needs all of the extra features in Game Polish I was wondering if there was any interest in releasing the installer by itself.

It would simply install the FPSC game with icons of your choosing. Some customizable screens would be available in the installer as well as a registration page if so desired. A serial code generator would provide shareware distribution. You could either set it up to directly launch your games from the shortcut icons or a game loader would launch games providing protected file support and multi-game file optimization (this is especially nice when including multiple multiplayer games).

Any interest if I would charge $10 US for it?

No interest, since RastaWorld's FPSPack simply works great and has all of the option needed and even gives some security.

I realize there are other options out there, that's why I'm asking. This is for people who want an installer that gives a little extra support for FPS users, but not necessarily a Game Menu system or the like as in FPS Pack or the hopefully soon to be released Game Polish.

And for that matter, like CLiPs, I too own Signs III and MagicFPS. I think diversity is a good thing. And I certainly wouldn't criticize rastaworld's work since I have heard good things about it as Benjamin A points out. I just hope my tool gets the same good word of mouth!

By the way Clips, the installer is part of Game Polish. Since you're a beta tester, you should see the beta next week. Thanks for the vote of confidence though

I'd buy this and also, I'd like the serial code generator/shareware aspects as well, which apparently fpspack is not going to have in the next version which I reckon made it worthwhile.

There is nothing secure about FPSPACK if you know the secret...

No need for installer, i already got Setup Wizard wich is used by the best games out there It's easy to use and i can make professional looking installs with it.

My love is seperated in 2 parts, 1 of them is 3ds Max 7, the other; FPSC.

Well, that's all pretty scary then,
like if the supposedly secure distribution vehicle
is not secure if you know "the secret"

Whatever, it sux.

NOTHING IS SECURE, there is ALWAYS a way "in".

Most people just don't know how to get "in".

In FPSC Pack is the same, most of the people DON'T know where the game is unpacked so we can play, compared to the litle guys that know.

Anyway, keithml, thinking again, shure, trow that for 10€, i might get it.

Of course there is no way to truly protect the files unless it is done within FPS Creator. Even then ... You can make it harder to get to though.
