Right, as it seems I haven't put forth a good way for the volunteers to help, so I have an idea.

I start a new account especially for the contest, where we would all manage the contest with equal abilities, so if the main thread were to need editing or contest threads to be made, I wouldn't be the only one to do it, I'll also have a moderating guide if you wish. So then we all try our hardest to keep it running, so if anything does get in my way, or someone else's, there is someone there able to pick up from where we left off.

So what I need is all volunteer's email addresses here and once I've set it up, I'll pick a select amount of members I trust to be honourable, I'll mail the password around, I'll make it easy to remember but hard to guess. (Of course if its not against the rules to have an account like that)

cheers.

'Tis nearly halloween. Perhaps some kind of crazy monster theme? Actually, Halloween is in like 5 days so maybe it wiouldn't be a good idea. Just a thought...

Not to brag, but I'm about the most trustworthy person there is... well, probably not, but you get the idea. While I'm not good at keeping with my compo entrees for this, I check up on it constantly.

For a theme how about all things Wii related, with a closing date of nov 19th-no polly limit?

It would be open ended, and have a good time frame for a kick off contest for a new age of Modeling compos. And that's a date EVERYONE is watching around here... it might turn off non-nintendo fans, but I think a lot of people would enter it. It's one of the few thiings that's constantly on my mind right now, and I'm sure it's the same with a lot of other forum users.

I think I'm gonna say go for Bizar Guys idea, if anyone objects, tell me now.

Because although an unlimited polycount I would go for;

A character from a Wii game with next gen quality model and a normal map, which would be an interesting entry (Well that's my idea anyway)

So the choices are

Halloween
Underwater
Wii related

So may as well make use of democracy and vote on the next theme.

I vote Wii.

Ah yes I saw this, shall we post pone this one then for that, no point having two running at the same time, it sort of lowers the amount of people entering on both sides and entrants have gotten light recently

I don't know mate, I'll probably stick all my 3D modelling into my Orc and nVidia entry, but if you don't gather enough interest I'll enter something

K, only problem with holdng off the compo is that december 1st is way past the Wii release date, so you kind of lose the point of it if the compo is after the Wii has come out... You can't have the awesome deadline either...

But it could be a post Wii release thing, where people have played the games and are more in touch with what they're gonna model, but unless you think the deadline is needed I think although bad timing, but it should be good to postpone until after the Ice Age 2 compo

Yeah, not really any choice now. I just think having the 19th be the deadline would have been really cool.

For those interested in the Halloween idea;

Pretty much an identical form to the 3D world challenges in this link, only one wip so far.
